Tea Party favorite reflects on challenges of the final campaign stretch to November elections, rival Murkowski's write-in campaign and more.
Tea Party Express readies another anti-Murkowski blitz
Tea Party Express readies another anti-Murkowski blitz, Shane D'Aprile of The Hill reported today.
On Monday, the group will unveil a new TV ad targeting Murkowski, which spokesman Levi Russell said he hopes will be on the air in Alaska within the next two weeks. Russell said the spot will send a clear signal to Murkowski, "We voted you out once, and we'll do it again."
The Tea Party Express also has a planned rally and a two-hour radiothon Monday in Anchorage to raise money for their Alaska efforts this fall.
The group called it just the start of an effort to "counteract Murkowski's write-in campaign, which demonstrates a blatant disrespect for the voters of Alaska."
After the Republican primary, Murkowski labeled the Tea Party Express an "outside extremist group" and she has continued that line of attack in her write-in campaign.

Harry Reid & Lisa Murkowski Team Up
If this doesn't illustrate that Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the chameleon RINO has shown her true liberal colors, nothing will. Cited reports show that she has teamed up with far leftist Harry Reid in labeling the Tea Party movement as "extremist."

Gov. Parnell Endorses Joe Miller
Gov. Parnell Endorses Joe Miller Video retrieved from KTUU.
Gov. Sean Parnell, Lt. Gov. candidate Mead Treadwell, and several lawmakers and former Palin campaign operatives endorsed Joe Miller at a joint rally held at the Menard Sports center yesterday, Ian Lazaran, Conservatives4Palin reported. KTUU and Miller both acknowledged the importance of Gov. Palin to helping them achieve their respective successes. Gov. Parnell ascended to his current position via Gov. Palin's resignation last year. Her endorsement of Joe Miller pulled him ahead of Lisa Murkowski and brought in over $500,000 in Tea Party money to his campaign.

GOP Digs in on Murkowski Against the Will of Voters
Doug Brady, Conservatives4Palin reported that Joe Miller discussed the GOP establishment's digging in rather than admitting defeat among its candidates such as Lisa Murkowski with Neil Cavuto tonight. Murkowski is currently keeping her Senate Energy Committee leadership position.
In his interview with Cauvto, Miller spoke highly of his main endorser, Gov. Palin regarding her as a "phenomenal asset to the nation," who "has [and continues to do] extraordinary things for the country." When asked if he would endorse Gov. Palin for a 2012 POTUS run, Miller said he regarded her as being the "top of the field of candidates," but made clear that there was no quid pro quo in his statement and that he does not do business that way.
The National Review wrote a scathing editorial about the GOP protecting Murkowski rather than following the will of the voters, and removing her from the position. The National Review's editorial board called upon readers to support the Miller campaign. Gov. Palin Tweeted about the editorial at 17:15 (5:15 PM) AKDT.

C4P: Rasmussen Reports Miller Up by Double Digits
A Rasmussen poll indicates that Joe Miller commands 42% of the vote for Alaska's US Senate seat, with Sen. Murkowski and Democrat Scott McAdams splitting the liberal vote 27% to 25% respectively, Doug Brady, an editor of Conservatives4Palin reported today. Undecided voters account for 5% of the vote. Brady wrote:
On September 17, Murkowski launched a write-in campaign in a desperate bid to save her Senate seat. Her first campaign ad contained a misspelling of her own last name. This afternoon, Gov. Palin Tweeted news from two sources that Sen. Murkowski might be stripped of her energy committee leadership position.
Murkowski's entry into the race has had the effect of splitting the liberal vote (exactly what Ian predicted last week) and allowing Joe Miller to open up a 17 point lead against McAdams and a 15 point lead against the other liberal in the race, Lisa Murkowski.

Spelling Your Own Name Correctly Helps for a Write-In
Mel Bryant, an editor of Conservatives4Palin, recovered a rather embarrassing ad campaign for Lisa Murkowski that had to be done over again. Her campaign misspelled her last name in their first ad for her futile write-in bid.
The above photo is a frame grab, made by Ben Smith of Politico from a 1:14 video ad and appears from 1:10 to 1:14 in the video.
Lisa Murkowski conceded to Joe Miller, then initiated this desperate bid to retain her power. The misspelling of her own name for a write-in campaign is perhaps a sign that her campaign is ill-conceived and ill-founded.

Murkowski Strategy Includes Active Courtship of Anti-Palin Vote
This article on Real Clear Politics describes at length how a signficant part of Lisa Murkowski's write-in against Joe Miller is a personal vendetta against Gov. Palin, and likely conservatives as a whole. Murkowski is on record falsely accusing Joe Miller's campaign of catering to "extremists."

WesternPAC: The Ad Lisa Murkowski Does Not Want You To See
Dear Patriot,
Late Friday night Lisa Murkowski announced that she would ignore the will of the Republican voters she claims to represent. As soon as we heard the announcement, the team here at Western Representation PAC began working to oppose Murkowski's pathetic attempt to maintain her power. Within hours we had launched a website and a facebook group that already has more than 2,000 supporters!
Over the weekend we also produced a hard hitting radio ad. The ad doesn't pull any punches, hammering Murkowski for being a "spoiled child" and feeling "entitled" to the seat. Listen to the blistering ad by clicking this LINK
Today we will start buying airtime on radio stations across Alaska. With your support our ad will be blasting across the great state of Alaska by the middle of the week. You can make sure that Lisa Murkowski's attempt to split the vote in Alaska gets no traction by making a generous contribution of $25, $50, $100, or more by clicking ---HERE---

Miller Calls on Alaskans to Look to the Future
|
Sunday, September 19, 2010
Comments prepared by Republican nominee Joe Miller on September 17, 2010
Tonight I am pleased to be joined by many Alaskans who were supporting Senator Murkowski’s campaign in the primary. They are standing with me as a visible sign of the unity that we need, in order to take change to Washington, D.C. and to protect Alaska’s future.
As Alaskans we have differences on some issues, and that is to be expected. But what unites us at this time is vastly more important than what divides us. What unites us is our conviction that the federal government -- under the leadership of President Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi– is leading our country toward economic ruin.
When we look to the history of our country, it is very clear that each generation of Americans has left this country a stronger and better place for the generations that follow. To ensure that we are able to do the same we must change course. It is our duty as citizens and stewards of our country to do everything in our power to create a more prosperous nation for the future.
The Late Senator Ted Stevens agreed when he said earlier this year:
“…I believe that this is no time for new programs. It’s time to review all existing programs and to cut federal expenditures wherever possible
“This is a tough time. Tax bills that they will inherit because of our nation’s current debt are astronomical. Clearly there’s a need for a reconsideration of all that we’ve done in the past that led to this fantastic level of debt.”
In addition to concerns over the national economy, Alaska’s economy is threatened by the policies of President Obama and Congress. Lisa Murkowski has been on the liberal side of the policy debate on too many issues ranging from TARP to Cap and Trade.
This evening, I encourage all Alaskans who are concerned about the direction of this country to continue in their support of this campaign. I also want to thank my fellow Republicans for uniting behind us in this crucial mission.
We were hopeful that Senator Murkowski would be as gracious in defeat as she had encouraged me to be.
Senator Murkowski spent a lot of time quoting our late Senator Ted Stevens tonight, but she seemed to forget what he said this last February at the Lincoln Day Dinner:
“ . . . I do hope that we can avoid electing people who would destroy another Republican in order to bring about personal success.”
I trust the people of Alaska will not become cynical; as yet another DC politician has broken her word.
For them, my message is simple; I am a conservative. This country is headed in the wrong direction. I believe the federal government has gone too far. I want to rein in federal spending, roll back excessive regulation, AND reduce taxes. Some call these views extreme; I call them common sense.
I am FOR Alaska. I came here because I believe this is the greatest State, in the greatest nation, and I will do all that is in my power to protect its future.
Because it is my children's future; it is OUR children’s future. We know change will not come FROM Washington, but I am determined to take change TO Washington. Thank you, and God Bless.
